While the PerfectFit 3-piece Harness is our signature and go-to option for most dogs, there are times when a 2-piece design is the better choice. Our 2-piece harnesses have been thoughtfully developed to support very small dogs and those who need extra care around sensitive areas.

Tiny dogs really are tiny, and adding a third piece can sometimes mean too many straps, clips and connection points on a very small body. For these dogs, simplicity is key. The 2-piece design allows us to maximise soft fleece coverage, especially in areas where there’s very little space between the legs, helping to keep tiny dogs comfortable, secure and irritation-free.

The 15mm 2-Piece Harness
Our 15mm range for small dogs is available as standard in a 3-piece harness, and this is usually where we start when fitting and making recommendations.
However, we also offer a 15mm 2-piece harness, made up of a top and a base, as an alternative option. The base combines the front and girth sections into one piece, providing extra fleece coverage between the legs.
This design can be particularly well suited to:
- Dachshunds, with their long, unique bodies and low-to-the-ground build
- Dogs who need extra care around the armpit and elbow area
- Dogs with sensitive skin, very short fur, or hairless breeds
Why We Usually Start with a 3-piece Harness
In most cases, we recommend starting with a 3-piece harness, as it offers:
- More adjustment points
- Greater flexibility for future upgrades
- The ability to fine-tune the fit as your dog grows or changes shape
The 2-piece harness is often a second choice, used when we find that a 3-piece harness isn’t quite perfect for a particular dog.
